The Macujo Method Review: How to Pass a Hair Test

Picture this:

You’re just going about your workday, then all of a sudden word comes down from management. You’re getting drug tested—and it’s a hair test! This isn’t something you can clean up for like a urine test. If you’re a drug-user then hair tests are a one-way ticket to fired-town; they’re almost impossible to cheat. All that work, all that precaution, all gone down the drain the moment they get a hair off your head.

Thankfully, there is one way to pass a hair test. But it isn’t easy. Read on to learn about the Macujo method and how it can help you pass the dreaded hair test.

So What Is the Macujo Method?

macujo method for hair follicle marijuana testIt comes from the heady days of the early 2000s, on marijuana.com and grasscity.com, and along with the Jerry G method, it’s one of the more famous hair detox routines people use to beat hair drug tests. As I said before, it’s not an easy undertaking. You’ll need to put some time into it, but the ingredients are easy enough to get.

Why Go With the Macujo Method?

Because its 90% success rate for evading a hair test about as good as it can get! In case that isn’t enough, here are a few more benefits:

  • Every ingredient is readily available and can be bought in large quantities.
  • It’s easy to do at home and doesn’t need any specialized equipment.
  • You just need a few days to do it.
  • You’ll also remove other pollutants from your hair.

Of course, we also have to be honest about its downsides:

  • You have to stop using substances for the duration of your detox period.
  • The ingredients can be damaging to your hair and skin.
  • You’ll need to protect your face, eyes, and ears during the process.
  • 90% pass rate is good, but it’s not a guaranteed pass.

Ingredients

You’ll need just four ingredients for this procedure.

  • Vinegar: The classic is Heinz, but any vinegar will do because we want the acetic acid in the vinegar.
  • Salicylic Shampoo: Usually, Clean and Clear pink or Neutrogena T-Sal. The important part is the salicylic acid.
  • Aloe Toxin Rid Old Formula: Because the new formula doesn’t work for our purposes.
  • Liquid detergent: Any will do, but the classic recipe uses Tide Liquid detergent.

The Macujo Method Procedure

Once you’ve got a hold of all the ingredients, it’s time to get started. Remember, cease all substance use before you start the method.

Step One: Dampen Your Hair

Using warm water, get your hair damp. We don’t want it soaked through or even wet, we want just enough to get the strands to open up and let the ingredients work better on the hair.

Step Two: Apply Vinegar

Break out the vinegar and start applying it into your hair like you would with shampoo. Massage it as thoroughly as you can from the scalp and into the strands (a comb may help here), and don’t spare the vinegar. Be very careful that you don’t get any of it into your eyes or ears, as it stings. Once it’s in, leave it in, don’t rinse it out just yet.

Step Three: Apply Shampoo

Same way as the vinegar: work it into your hair from scalp to ends, as thoroughly as you can. Massage it in to make sure it gets into your hair strands. Most of the drug traces are inside, so we want to get the solution worked in as thoroughly as possible. Just like the vinegar, keep it away from the sensitive spots, and don’t rinse it out yet when you’re done.

Step Four: Let Stand

Once the two acids are thoroughly worked into your hair, it’s time to let them work. Wrap your hair with a towel or shower cap so that nothing gets in to mess it up, then go find something to do: read a book, do some chores, watch some Netflix. You’ll need 30 to 45 minutes for the acids to work.

Step Five: Rinse With Toxin Rid

Once the acids are done working, it’s time to wash them out. Break out your Aloe Toxin Rid (remember, old formula only) and use it to rinse out your hair. Since you were thorough in getting the acids in, you’ll have to be just as thorough in getting them out. Do this twice, to be absolutely sure that you cleanse your hair completely.

Step Six: Apply Liquid Detergent

After the Toxin Rid, that’s where the liquid detergent comes in. Apply sparingly, and be very careful not to get it into your eyes and nose. Work it into your hair until it squeaks when it’s rubbed.

And that’s the whole procedure. However, one application will not be enough unless you’re a very occasional user. Let your hair rest, then apply the method again to further strip more drug traces out of your hair. An interval of ten hours should do it.

Since this method is very hard on your hair and scalp, it’s best to get started as early as you can so that your hair has time to recover between applications. We recommend applying conditioner one hour after you finish with the procedure to keep your hair healthy, and sleeping with a clean shower cap on to avoid further contamination.

You may notice that your scalp has reddened, or you may feel a burning sensation. This is normal when the scalp is subjected to such harsh treatment, but it will subside given time. However, make sure to check your scalp anyway. If you feel severe irritation or burning, that may be a sign of chemical burns. Exercise caution.

How Does It Work?

an ongoing drug testWe’ve told you what to do; now we’re going to explore how it works. It’s all about how substances interact with your hair. In particular, it’s how pH levels affect them.

Anything with a pH level above 7 is a base or alkaline. When you apply a base to your hair, it opens up and lets other substances deeper into the hair strand. This is why most commercial dyes have a bit of base in them, because it helps apply color.

On the opposite side of the scale, anything with a pH level below 7 is an acid. This closes up the hair, making it softer and shinier.

This is why we’ve annotated the ingredients list above. The only thing that’s an irreplaceable requirement is the Toxin Rid, because of what it does. For the others, you can try replacements if you can’t get the specified brands. So any kind of vinegar will do, even if it’s not Heinz. A higher concentration of salicylic acid works better, but as long as your shampoo has it, it can work. If you have baking soda on hand, that serves as a good replacement for liquid detergent.

Okay, But Does It Work?

The real important question here. Yes, it does, if you have the right ingredients, apply them thoroughly, and repeat the procedure over several days. One application is not going to work except for occasional users. The recommended minimum course of the Macujo Method is to apply it five times over three days, and more is better, to be absolutely sure of getting a clean result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work for all drugs?

Yes, but not as effectively. The Macujo Method is formulated mainly to remove THC and other marijuana-derived metabolites from the hair. Other drugs have differing compositions, so while the solutions are effective in removing most drug traces, we can’t guarantee it’ll work as well for drugs other than marijuana. We’ve got a guide on how to pass a marijuana drug test covering the products and directions of use and another post covering the topic on how to pass a hair follicle drug test for weed here.

Does it have to be Aloe Toxin Rid?

Aloe Rid Detox ShampooYes, and it has to be the old formula. It’s the one ingredient you can’t substitute, not even the new formula of Toxin Rid; the composition has changed. The old formula includes propylene glycol, which opens the cuticle and helps wash out the pollutants and metabolites in your hair. This is why we always emphasize, when it comes to Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo: old formula only.

Who uses hair tests?

It depends on your employer. Most companies prefer using urine tests because a hair test is more expensive and can’t reveal recent drug use. However, it’s very effective at revealing habitual use over a certain period. Try and find out as much information as you can so you know what kind of test is coming.

However, if you’re looking for a job in the oil, gas, and petroleum industries, you can expect a hair test no matter the position you’re applying for. Hair tests are all but universal in this sector, so best be prepared.

Conclusion

You’ll need to be thorough in application and you’ll need the time to apply it, but if you do it correctly, then the Macujo Method holds a really good chance of helping you pass your drug test. It may be hard on your hair, but it’s worked for a lot of people, and chances are, it’ll work for you too. The trouble is more than worth it, because getting a pass on that drug test is what really matters.
